Day 9: Wed 5 Aug – Aschach to Grein

Ride: 101km

Nice weather but a long day due to the lack of accommodation along the way. A bit rough in one section due to roadworks. The only accommodation we could find was €98!

The rather ordinary night continued – we went to a restaurant and I ordered PIG’S LIVER! Why? I don’t know. About two hours later I felt very sick and had the runs and vomits all night and the next morning. I can’t believe I had PIG’s LIVER – I hate pork and now I hate it even more. Graham was a big help – went to the pharmacy and got some non-prescription liquid.

Early morning starts mean very little traffic

There are many old lovely buildings in Austria, although this one has not been maintained well which is unusual
