Day 13: Sun 9 Aug – Vienna

Not sure what we did today, but I made the decision to go home regardless of cost. Contacted Besi who contacted QANTAS and changed my departure date.

Ride: 50km It was 8:16am before I started to feel a little better. Needless to say, I had a very ordinary day on the bike. I was on the point of collapse most of the day.  When we got to our hotel, the bed was very welcoming! Graham brought up some soup and a milkshake which I consumed then read for about half an hour. Slept on and off for the rest of the afternoon and night. Our accommodation for the night - can't split that bed! Day 8: Tue 4 Aug – Passau to Aschach an der Donau (Austria)

Ride: 64km Rained off and on but only light rain. We were cycling along the river and through forests for most of the day. Had to catch a little ferry across the river at once stage.  Twin room for €56 and a nice dinner for €30 including a small carafe of wine each.
